Enabling you to be more effective with your voice
I teach people how to use their voices in an effective and influential way. My clients experience a big increase in confidence and higher rates of success. I work with executives, voice over artists, singers, actors, presenters, public speakers, teachers, academics, sales & telesales professionals, other professional voice users and deaf speakers. My work is derived from the latest research and based on 20 years teaching and performance experience, and a Masters degree in Voice Pathology.
I did my Masters degree in Voice Pathology with University College London and achieved Advanced Vocal Practice of the Integrated Voice certification with top voice trainers and authors, Gillyanne Kayes and Jeremy Fisher of Vocal Process Ltd.
Amongst my academic achievements I have studied with leading voice related professionals and researchers including:
Dr Gillyanne Kayes (author and international voice trainer),
Jeremy Fisher (author and international voice trainer),
Professor Johan Sundberg (voice scientist, Sweden),
Mr John Rubin (consultant laryngologist, Royal National Throat Nose & Ear RNTNE Hospital, London),
Dr Ruth Epstein (Head of Speech & Language Therapy and Consultant Speech & Language Therapist, RNTNE Hospital, London),
Lesley Mathieson (author and Honorary Research Adviser to the Department of Speech and Language Therapy, RNTNE Hospital, London),
Jacob Lieberman (laryngeal osteopath, London), and
Dr Louise Montello (Very sadly, she passed away in 2014. She was a psychoanalyst, music therapist and a wonderful teacher).
Until a recent move away from the area I was on the multi-disciplinary voice clinic team at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital, was a regular at the SW Specialist Interest Group in Voicecraft meetings, and worked closely with the Exeter, North Devon and Torbay NHS Speech & Language Therapy units. During my Masters Degree in Voice Pathology I attended weekly voice clinics at the RNTNE Hospital London, with Mr John Rubin.
As a vocal health consultant I have spoken on my subject for organisations such as the British Association of Performing Arts Medicine and given master classes at local institutions. I have also written for various music publications, including Reverb, educating readers on vocal health and top techniques.
I am a seasoned teacher, presenter, musical and performer. I am also a successful entrepreneur. Captivating my listeners and building connections have been essential skills for my success in the music, performance and business industries. I am highly respected for and pride myself on my contribution and commitment to the foremost vocal methods, teaching, training and research in the production of healthy and intelligible voice.
Based in Bournemouth and Exeter, I also teach and present nationwide and internationally via Skype and FaceTime. My methods are built on secure understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the vocal mechanism in accordance with the realities of professional expectations.
Oh my word. I just have to say a big thank you Fran. This workshop was fantastic and I have loads of techniques ready to use for when I’m feeling too quiet and wavery. I really enjoyed today and am on a high. Great to meet everyone there and thank you for your feedback.
Excellent, engaging session. I went in thinking I understood most of the topic but ended up learning so much more through a brilliantly paced presentation which was expertly presented by Fran. She also answered and explained every question the group had thoroughly and perfectly. It really was a great session.
It was fun, relaxed, high teacher/student ratio so lots of individual attention, interesting material and it felt like everyone went away with something that would make a real difference in their life. You are a very inspirational teacher with a sensitive feedback approach – clearly very experienced in seeing what’s needed for each individual. A hugely enjoyable day – nothing I would change, you didn’t loose me once and I would do it all again. Looking forward to using the techniques!!!!! Thank you!
